Who: All cadets in FTUs with appropriate weather attire. Note - Sleeping bags are not required as they are issued.
What: Field Training Exercise (FTX) where cadets learn how to build shelters, fires, snares, proper hiking techniques, and how to use a map and compass.
When: 25-27 April, cadets arrive at CCBCC at 6:00 pm on the Friday to take a bus to Fort Scott. Then they will be dropped off at the CCBCC on the Sunday at 3:00 pm.
Where: Fort Scott - 20510 Airport Rd, Tofield, AB T0B 4J0

Kit List: Found below and it will be handed out on Wednesday nights to those who signed up
Kit WILL be inspected prior to any survival activity, and any Cadet not properly prepared will not be allowed to participate without finding a solution. Parents are requested not to drop-and-run and to remain until the cadet’s kit is inspected in case the cadet is missing kit. Any cadet/parent who does not own any of the following is required to talk to Capt Bryan about appropriate alternatives. Uniform pieces (specifically FIELD TRAINING UNIFORM or FTU) that have been issued to cadets will be bolded at the top.
-FTU Jacket with rank slip on (Wearing on the bus)
-FTU Pants (Wearing on the bus)
-FTU Multipurpose Boots/Combat boots (Wearing on the bus)
-Blue Cadet T-shirts x 3 if have them (Wearing on the bus)
-Cadet Tilly Hat OR Alternative Head dress (Wearing on the bus)
-Cadet Toque
-Warm gloves/mitts
-Civilian Rain gear
-Long sleeve shirt/Sweater
-Water canteen/water bottle and carrying case
-Warm Jacket or Coat
-Secondary pair of emergency footwear
-4 pairs of wool socks, 4 pairs sports socks, 3 sets of underwear
-Long underwear
-Duffel bag/back pack
-Whistle (if you have one already - you do not need to go out and buy one)
-Pocket knife or multitool (max 4 inch blade, locking blade or sheath) - level 4+ only
If you do NOT have a Uniform issued to you at this point, please pack/wear the following:
-Additional outer layer shirt (Sweater, hoodie, jacket liner etc)
-Wide brimmed hat for sun protection
-Civilian Toque or warm hat
-Civilian gloves
-Sturdy pair of footwear appropriate for hiking, with a high supportive ankle. (not runners, crocs, flipflops, etc)
The following items will not be allowed on any Exercise:
-Alcohol, Drugs, Vaping/Smoking simulation items and other mood-altering materials.
-Food not pre-approved by staff.
