Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I'm not receiving communication from the squadron. What should I do?

Use the "Not Recieving Calls or Emails?" Quick Link button to complete a form that will confirm your contact information. If you do not begin recieving emails within one week, please contact the office, either by emailing AdminO@287aircadets.ca or stop by the office to talk to the Administration Officer.

If you are a cadet and are not recieving your weekly callout, submit the "Not Recieving Calls or Emails?" Form. Speak with your chain of command to ensure that you are included in the call list. If you do not begin to recieve calls within one week, please contact the office.

When will I get my uniform?

Cadets are expected to attend a minimum of four parade nights after joining cadets before being issued a uniform.

As part of our intake process, you will be measured to ensure you will have a uniform issued to you with minimal delay. If you have not been sized or have not recieved a uniform after your fifth week as a cadet, please feel free to contact the office to inquire about when you should expect a uniform. (If you joined in September, please be patient. The uniform issue process may take a couple weeks longer due to the volume of uniforms being issued.)

I was asked if I am "League Screened." What does that mean?

The cadet program deals with youth and the safety of the cadets is always the top priority in everything we do. League Screening refers to the process by which all volunteers are interviewed, complete a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and are vetted and approved by the local and provincial levels of the Air Cadet League of Canada. Once a person is screened they are eligible to volunteer in an executive position on the 287 Parent Committee and/or to volunteer to assist with cadet activities where they will be working with cadets.

Help! I don't know what your acronyms mean!

We try to remember to use the actual titles when speaking with parents and new cadets, but sometimes forget. These are some of the common acronyms we use. If you aren't sure what something means, please ask!
